STR Partners with Louisiana in Multi-year State Contract

For Immediate Release

Jul 14, 2009

Technology firm STR.Grants, LLC announces that it has received a direct contract from the State of Louisiana’s Office of Community Development (OCD). As a result of this three-year contract, OCD will continue use of STR’s modified eGrantsPlus® grants management application for processing grant applications related to the State’s disaster recovery efforts. The contract is valued by the State at $6.5 million.

The State of Louisiana first began using eGrantsPlus more than two years ago in its recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina. Operating as a sub-contractor to a prime government contractor, STR.Grants supported its eGrantsPlus application as it processed more than 200,000 applications, resulting in 120,000 awarded grants. With the new direct contract, STR.Grants will provide service directly to the OCD as it uses eGrantsPlus for file reviews, grant audits and grant recovery. To support this service, STR.Grants will open an office in Baton Rouge.

“A presence in Baton Rouge is important since this system will require ongoing administrative support, training, modifications and enhancements to meet the client’s needs,” said Scott K. Meyer, President of STR.Grants, LLC. “We can envision having up to half-a-dozen people in Baton Rouge to assist with this project and others in the region as we continue helping the State of Louisiana in its recovery efforts.”
