Software Product Development Manager

Position Description
The eGrantsPlus® Software Development Manager will lead the software development team end-to-end, from the initial idea and early prototyping through to design implementation and delivery, and post-implementation, warranty and maintenance support of installed eGrantsPlus clients. The ideal candidate for this position will:
- Own responsibility for planning and sizing of projects, prioritizing activities, reviewing design enhancements, chairing design and code reviews, problem solving, monitoring project progress, identifying, implementing and ensuring compliance to a standard Software Development Lifecycle methodology and tools
- Work with clients for implementation planning and execution of client-specific implementation activities (gap fit analysis, configuration, installation, customization, data analysis, interface development)
- Oversee and balance technical resources to support both internal product development, client-specific implementations, and post-implementation maintenance support
- Establish the technical vision for the eGrantsPlus
- Collaborate with Marketing on product strategy and planning and with BD/Sales on pre-sales positioning activities, product capability demonstrations, and competitive procurement efforts
- Prepare and manage annual staffing, product release, and budget plans with staff management responsibility for eGrantsPlus development team
Required Capabilities and Experience
- Contributed to the development of a commercially available software product on a Windows or Linux platform in a senior capacity
- Proven track record in management of a software team as well as having a high degree of competency in software development
- History of managing day-to-day activities of a development team to ensure that team deliverables to the business are met on schedule and within budget on a consistent basis
- Strong leadership skills with proficiency in architecture, design, and technology evaluation
- BSEE, BSCS, or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience
- Must be receptive to occasional travel.
Key Skills
- Oracle database and Oracle Forms/Reports
- Java/J2EE JSP and JSF technologies
- Working knowledge of JBoss product suite
- Application servers such as Apache, Tomcat, Oracle iAS, WebSphere, WebLogic
- Experience with implementation of java-based applications in Windows, Unix, Linux, and AIX environments
- Working experience with CMM processes
- PMI-certification desirable
