Position Description
STR is currently looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager with extensive experience selling software COTS products preferably in the public sector market. The selected candidate for this position will drive STR revenue through effectively targeting and positioning eGrantsPlus® and consulting and implementation services at the federal and/or state/local government level. Responsibilities will include:
- Identify and qualify multi-million dollar product opportunities in support of STR’s business objectives
- Competitively position eGrantsPlus and manage successful responses to government-issued RFPs; Develop highly tailored and accurate messages to respond to specifics of client situation and needs
- Drive sales activity process from opportunity identification to close
- Work with appropriate individuals within STR, channel and product partners, and bid prime/sub-contractors to develop opportunities for a variety of solutions
- Ability to lead deal review and analysis
- Build post-sales relationships across client organizations to affect add-on business opportunities
Required Capabilities and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree minimum
- Significant understanding of and experience selling or delivering government software services, processes and offerings
- Proven ability to sell and close large complex engagements of $5M+
- Understanding of public sector procurement processes a plus
- 8 years minimum of relevant experience with demonstrated career growth
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with proposal process and proposal development
